I have been to this restaurant twice. My family loved the plantain appetizer with cream. Everyone loved their dishes each time. Although service is friendly, it is confusing determining who is the actual server. We will definitely be keeping this place as a regular option for dinner.

I am so HAPPY this restaurant opened a new location in Pembroke Pines! This is the best Colombian food ever! I suggest you try their Maduros con crema (I am not sure what cream this is.. Don't even ask its like a cheese cream sauce from Heaven lol), Patacon con pollo and their mojarra! I can't get enough of their Mojarra! Their fish is so fresh and comes right of the bone! Delicious!!! This place never disappoints! My whole family goes there! And their prices are just right!! The only suggestion I have for the restaurant is to have the waiters be more attentive. We could've bought more beers if they would of stopped by our table. But other than that, please check this place out!! :D

Okay... The portions are huggge!!!! Their were 9 of us.. Most of us order the churrasco... BUT it was the skirt steak cut though, it was New York strip or something.. But definitely not skirt steak... Cooked to order.. Came out on a sizzle hot plate with rice, salad and fries.. They have their chimichurri sauce on the table so you can have as much as you like, which a love. Maduros were yummy and so were the yuca fritas. Everyone enjoyed their meal... Only complaint was that when asked for medium/rare it keep out overly cooked. Three people can share a dish!

Wanted try some Colombian cuisine at El Balcon De Las Americas after seeing so many good reviews. My wife and I had dinner and wanted to share my experience. The restaurant has a very nice atmosphere. Very relaxing and wait staff are very friendly. Our waiter wasn't too familiar with the dishes offer on the menu. A waitress came to our table and recommended their popular dishes. We had order for appetizer Maduros Con Crema (Sweet plantains with cream and white cheese.) I really did not like this appetizer. It is tough to eat cold fried sweet plantains covered with cream and cheese. Nothing about this dish was warm or hot. Since I am not accustom to eating Colombian food I did not know if this dish is meant to be eaten cold. We ordered our entree, my wife had the Churrasco (A butterflied grilled NY steak with white rice, fries, salad and chimichurri sauce.) My wife asked for her steak to be cooked medium and they brought out a over cooked steak. The NY Strip was unseason and tough. I ordered Bandeja Paisa w/ Colombian Sausage. This dish was their best seller. It comes with a flat steak, a chorizo sausage, a strip of Chicharrones, sweet plantains, sunny side up egg, avocado, bowl of red beans and white rice. My entree did not have much flavor. Steak was bland and dried. Sausage was deep fried too long, made it dried and crunchy. Chicharrones was super hard and was tough to eat. The only thing I enjoyed eating was the white rice. I find not many people know how to cook simple white rice. When the waitress picked up our plates she notice my wife did not eat her NY Strip. She told the waitress it was super dried and waitress apologized for it. She said she would give us 10% off our check. When the check came they only gave us 4% off our check. Frustrated, we just paid our check and left.

Great food, good service. Background music was greatly selected, it brought a lot of happy memories.

The waitstaff is nice but the food is not that great. Not many options for the Bandeja Paisa. Not as much food as in other Columbian restaurants. They didn't have many of the santo hi/soups available. The flan was a little old and stiff. Will not be coming back.

Sweet plantain with creamy cheese appetizer was amazing! However the rest of the food went down from there. Other items were either too dry (rice, pork, tostones) or too greasy (lomo salteado, yuca). Went without water for most of our meal. They HAVE the help, they just don't work together well to expedite service. Will not return.

Really tasty Colombian food. The restaurant is very spacious and has beautiful decor. They have a special party room that can accommodate large parties for special occasions. The server we had didn't really speak English, which is fine because we managed to communicate, but the service was slow. The restaurant wasn't very busy at the time, but expect a leisurely meal. I ordered the palomilla steak and it was DELICIOUS! You can specify the done-ness of the meat (I ordered medium) and the steak was flavorful, juicy, and tender! It is topped with onions and served with two sides of your choosing. I got white rice and beans, as well as sweet plantains. Portions are large and filling. I ordered a cafe con leche after I devoured my meal. It wasn't too bitter or sweet, it's very well made. I would definitely return to this restaurant in the future. It's a franchise, so I won't hesitate to go to a different location as well.

I ordered food from here and it was a disaster. I never received the empanadas, the soup bowl was broken on the bottom and spilled everywhere. I gave them my credit card ahead of time because it was a surprise for my bf who was sick, and when the guy got there they charged him. I thought maybe my card didn't go through for whatever reason, but NO! They charged both of us. I called to get the matter cleared up and the lady pretty much said I was lying. That the owner personally wrapped the soup and the empanadas. I don't need to waste my time at work to lie about $14. Just return my money and everything would have been fine. Instead, she refused to return the money for the soup because he accepted the bag and agreed to return the money for the empanadas because she found them.... yes the ones the owner personally put in the bag. I hardly ever guve a bad review but this totally ruined my sweet surprise. Thanks for nothing!

When I tried the food, thought I would give it a 5 star for sure, they lost a star for the service! tried the pan de bono... yum yum, and had a steak with avocado, the fried yuca were the bomb. the service was slow and mostly non existent, had to multiple times stop a couple of waitresses to request water! This place is really nice, is located in a shopping mall so there is more than enough parking.

I have been to El Balcon many times as there food has always been delicious even though the service is sometimes mediocre. However, I am usually understanding considering most of the time they are packed. However I went in for breakfast this morning, July 22, 2015 at 10:30am and had the worst service I've ever experienced at a restaurant where my table of three was only the second table in the entire restaurant. We went in for breakfast and there was only two other people in the restaurant. There were two waiters working. After ordering an orange juice and waters for the table, they only brought us our juices 10 minutes later, no water. It took us 20 minutes to get the attention of the waiters to order our food, 30 minutes later our food came out. I ordered the carne asada which was beyond tough to the point that a steak knife barely cut through it. After we were finished eating we had to ask both of the waiters for to-go boxes and for the café con leche that came with our breakfasts. The café came out 10 minutes later and it was extremely watery and almost completely white from the milk, I don't know how you screw up café con leche at a Spanish restaurant, but they managed. It took us 15 minutes to get the attention of the waiters, who stood at the back of the store the entire time avoiding eye contact, to get the check. Another 5 minutes to get their attention to come pick up the check. We were offered no apologizes for the absurd waiting. The service was despicable. It's such a shame that this place offered such horrible service because we had been very loyal customers. But unfortunately we will no longer be customers of a restaurant that so obviously does not respect the time of those they are serving.

Came here on a Sunday. There is live music. It is a small restaurant but efficient and quality service. They have fresh juices: mango was good and passion fruit tart but refreshing. (High sugar) Ambience: a bit loud. Very family oriented. Minimal decor. A few tvs . Appetizer: Patacon con Pollo. It is basically loaded tostones. They have spices on the table that you can add. (Very greasy) share with 3-4 people Lunch: They have various Sancocho to choose from. I have never seen such a selection. I ordered the Pollo all Grille. The waitress was happy to change my sides with no hassle. Food was delicious but a bit on the greasy side. Will most likely return to try a few other dishes.

Good and tasty Colombian food. Go there quite often. Eat mainly their soups- A little salty in my opinion. Other foods such as cazuela de mariscos, pretty good. Good service. Clean place. Maggie.

If you want the best Aji picante sauce and the most authentic Colombian empanadas this is the place. My mom loves this place and this is the ONLY Colombian restaurant that my son and I will eat at. Clean, nice servers and they were quick. They have the real Colombian fruit juices too.

Finally, Colombian Cuisine in Pembroke Pines! I first stumbled upon this up and coming chain in Sunrise close to Sawgrasss Mall. I fell in love with their quality and taste. We've been patiently waiting for this location to open up since it's literally walking distance from our house. We went on Saturday and ordered the Churrasco. It was delicious and the portion was big. My wife ordered the breaded chicken steak with rice and fried yuca. She was happily impressed. Do not waste your time with any other Spanish restaurants west of I75. My wife is Cuban and agreed with me. This is it. Bon appetite
